Pinterest Picks #12

This week I haven’t picked a selection of pins to highlight, instead I have decided to share a page with you instead. This lovely Pinterest page by Sarah Catherine Designs is just lovely. She has recently tidied it up and sorted her boards and pins and has inspired me to tidy up my own page a bit.

This week I’ve been thinking a lot about growing things. As I live in a small flat I have no garden and so have been planning ways to grow things with minimal space used. Here’s some of my favourite ideas!

So there we have it. With some glass jars and some upcycled tins I’m sure I can make my windowsills a haven for tiny plants.

This week my Pinterest picks are all around the theme of winter warmers. It’s been chilly here in the UK and with a winter chill comes the desire to get cosy and warm inside. Here are some of my favourite ways to do this.

Firstly, food…what better way to warm up than with a bowl of something comforting (yes, comfort food should almost always come in bowl form).

red lentil coconut soup  - a house in the hills

Navy Bean Soup

Lentil and Sausage Soup for a Cold Winter's Night by AntoniaJames, food52: The beauty of this soup is that it manages to be soul-warming but not overly heavy. The broth is light, and aromatic with wine and marjoram, and you feel like you've won the lottery each time you come across a piece of garlicky sausage. #Soup #Lentil #Sausage

Next, what better way to enjoy this lovely food? Of course, wrapped up in something warm and cosy!

Who wouldn’t love to be sitting here right now?

Banish those winter blues with some bright colours like these!

Pinterest Picks #9

My first Pinterest Picks of 2013. There is no real theme to these picks, other than they are things I’ve made/taken inspiration from recently.

This cranberry curd featured among the gifts I gave away this Christmas, although I did change the recipe a wee bit to make the curd set a bit more solid it tasted delicious and I’ve had some lovely comments about it.

Taking inspiration from these wee jar cosies I made some of my own tealight cosies. I’ll get some pictures and the crochet pattern up on here soon.

And this year I have another wedding to go to and so another crochet blanket to make. I’m currently trying to decide on a design but I love the edging on this one so I think no matter what design I go for this edging will feature.

And there we have my first picks of 2013!

I missed last week so I’m back with some of my favourite Pinterest Picks for this week. This weeks theme is all around bicycles. I love to ride my bike and I’ve really missed it this past week as the weather has been just to icy for me to get out and about. I’m also working on a design for pannier bags and I should be able to show you the final product in a week or so!
Anyway, on to this weeks picks

Here are some things I’ve been falling in love with on Pinterest this week, oh to be a millionaire!

First up, who doesn’t love Orla Kiely? I am no exception to this and I am so in love with her prints, designs and clothes. This week I began a fairly strong love affair with this sweet jumper. I love the colours and style, just not the price tag.

Next I have to share another Beatles print. I love the iconic image and great use of colour in this.

So I’ve made it to week 2! Here are some of my favourite pinteresting things from last week.

First up this week we have this lovely poster featuring lomography cameras. Cameras are beautiful objects and I love to see them displayed like this.

I’ve tried my hand at embroidery once or twice and it’s always ended up a bit of a mess so I am utterly astounded when I see beautiful pieces like this, when I think of how much effort has gone into it I am in awe.

This is a gorgeous use of embroidery hoops and felt. It’s given me so many great ideas too!

Hmmm…there seems to have been some colour coordination this week, they all look so lovely together!

In an attempt to have some semi regular commentary I’ve decided to make Mondays my Pinterest Pics Day. I spend an obscene amount of time on this website and it seems only right that I encourage others to do the same.

Every Monday I will list some of my favourite things on Pinterest. Here are today’s selection;

First up is this great selection of Jim Lambie interiors. I love the colours he uses and the shapes he creates.

Next is this heart stopping picture of Felix Baumgartner about to leap out of his balloon pod yesterday. Like many I was glued to this jump. It was terrifying for me so I dread to think how his family felt watching it, never mind how he felt stepping off that platform. What an unbelievable view though.

Thirdly, is this beautiful image of a hand with The Beatles, ‘Hello, Goodbye’ lyrics. I love the song to begin with and I’m an absolute sucker for typography like this.

Now, I am terrible at keeping a diary- I manage it for a few weeks then forget about it. I wish with all my heart that I could create something like this and keep it up!

One week in my current journal.

This is just a beautiful picture

Lovely in every way

So there we have it…week 1 on my Pinterest Pics.
