Pinterest Picks #12

This week I haven’t picked a selection of pins to highlight, instead I have decided to share a page with you instead. This lovely Pinterest page by Sarah Catherine Designs is just lovely. She has recently tidied it up and sorted her boards and pins and has inspired me to tidy up my own page a bit.

Emergency Crochet!

Last weekend I went to visit a friend in the Scottish Borders. However, before I’d even left work I realised I hadn’t packed any winter woolies…disaster in this snowy weather! Luckily I had packed wool and a crochet hook so I quickly got to work on some mitts and a hat. They may not be the highest quality items that I’ve even made but they did the job and kept me warm and cosy over the weekend. Don’t you just love it when crafting comes to the rescue!

Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013

As we start out a new year I wanted to say a quick cheerio with some of my favourite pictures from last year. I had planned to have a picture from each month but it turns out I didn’t take any pictures in March or April (it may be more likely that I’ve lost them!). Anyway, here are 10 of my favourite pictures from each month last year.

January Western HarbourJanuary: This was taken on a bright sunny January day and is of Edinburgh’s Western Harbour

February Pipes in BerlinFebruary: My friend and I took a short trip to Berlin in February where I took a picture of these great pink over ground pipes. What an amazing city, I can’t wait to go back but probably will wait for a warmer time of year…February is COLD!

May-Wedding CraftMay: My friends got married and had the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever been to. The bride and her family made almost all of the decorations, the groom provided the music and his mum made this gorgeous cake. It was a day to remember on the banks of Loch Fyne.

June- AmsterdamJune: Campbell & I visited Amsterdam in June witha group of friends. It’s a stunning city and I took this picture while on a boat tour. I love the colours and reflections.

July-Olympic PreparationsJuly: This month was all about Olympic preparations. This was the day that the Red Arrows flew over Edinburgh.

August-CreteAugust: Campbell and I went to visit my mother in Crete this month, here is a picture of him enjoying a beautiful sunset one evening.

September- Pedal For ScotlandSeptember: I cycled 50 miles from Glasgow to Edinburgh and was very proud to get this medal. It was a great experience and one I hope to repeat this year.

October-Edinburgh CastleOctober: October (and November for that matter) saw the leaves turning and it was more beautiful than I remember seeing in a long time, the last few years the leaves have been frozen off or blown off before they can turn. Here is Edinburgh Castle at the start of this turn.

November-CairngormNovember: Here is Campbell enjoying the cosiness of his winter coat on the top of Cairngorm Mountain. We took the funicular railway up and enjoyed the views before having a fantastic hot chocolate.

December- ChristmasDecember: This was the festive season and to celebrate here is a picture of some of our tree decorations.

2012 was quite a year with it’s fair share of ups and downs. I’m looking forward immensely to 2013 and what exciting things it may hold.

Sales!

After a very sad family time I was perked up by making my first Etsy sale! I didn’t expect this moment to be quite as exciting as it was but I was over the moon to think that somebody would pay money for something I made! I was beginning to get a bit downheartened that nothing was selling but this has re-energised me and I can’t wait for the next sale. I have a feeling this crafting thing is addictive! It should come with a warning!

Here is the picture I took from the back door to my office. What a show!

Stalls but no shoppers

So today was the big day! I made the early morning trip from Glasgow to Edinburgh in torrential rain, to get to The Voodoo Rooms and get my stall set up. I was nervous and excited for my first market! I was all set up and waiting for the crowds to arrive, and waited a little more. Unfortunately, my first market was lacking in footfall which was a shame as there were some lovely stalls.
It wasn’t a waste for me to attend as I now have a good idea of what to expect at a market and how to prepare. Roll on the next attempt!
Anyway, here are some pictures of my stall.
