Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013

As we start out a new year I wanted to say a quick cheerio with some of my favourite pictures from last year. I had planned to have a picture from each month but it turns out I didn’t take any pictures in March or April (it may be more likely that I’ve lost them!). Anyway, here are 10 of my favourite pictures from each month last year.

January Western HarbourJanuary: This was taken on a bright sunny January day and is of Edinburgh’s Western Harbour

February Pipes in BerlinFebruary: My friend and I took a short trip to Berlin in February where I took a picture of these great pink over ground pipes. What an amazing city, I can’t wait to go back but probably will wait for a warmer time of year…February is COLD!

May-Wedding CraftMay: My friends got married and had the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever been to. The bride and her family made almost all of the decorations, the groom provided the music and his mum made this gorgeous cake. It was a day to remember on the banks of Loch Fyne.

June- AmsterdamJune: Campbell & I visited Amsterdam in June witha group of friends. It’s a stunning city and I took this picture while on a boat tour. I love the colours and reflections.

July-Olympic PreparationsJuly: This month was all about Olympic preparations. This was the day that the Red Arrows flew over Edinburgh.

August-CreteAugust: Campbell and I went to visit my mother in Crete this month, here is a picture of him enjoying a beautiful sunset one evening.

September- Pedal For ScotlandSeptember: I cycled 50 miles from Glasgow to Edinburgh and was very proud to get this medal. It was a great experience and one I hope to repeat this year.

October-Edinburgh CastleOctober: October (and November for that matter) saw the leaves turning and it was more beautiful than I remember seeing in a long time, the last few years the leaves have been frozen off or blown off before they can turn. Here is Edinburgh Castle at the start of this turn.

November-CairngormNovember: Here is Campbell enjoying the cosiness of his winter coat on the top of Cairngorm Mountain. We took the funicular railway up and enjoyed the views before having a fantastic hot chocolate.

December- ChristmasDecember: This was the festive season and to celebrate here is a picture of some of our tree decorations.

2012 was quite a year with it’s fair share of ups and downs. I’m looking forward immensely to 2013 and what exciting things it may hold.

Instagramming

My flat is in absolute chaos as I prepare for Gin in Teacups next Sunday (does this happen to everyone before their first craft market?) so I can’t really take any good pictures of what I have been making, I promise lots of pictures of the stall though. In the mean time I have also been spending a lot of time looking through my old instagram posts so I thought I would share some of my favourites. Below are a mix of funny things I’ve seen, things I’ve made and places I’ve been, hovering over the image will tell you what/where it is. If you want to follow me on instagram I am sarahquinn27

Pictures across Scotland

Just a quick on seeing as it’s Saturday night but I just wanted to share how chuffed I am to have my picture of trees on the banks of the River Garry featured on the BBC Website. The other photos in the album are great too and really show the beauty and diversity of Scotland.

Scotland…You are Stunning!

This weekend I was lucky enough to be taken away through Scotland by Campbell. He booked us a hotel in Aviemore and I have had such a lovely time. It was great to have a weekend away with Campbell but also to see some more of this beautiful country I am lucky enough to live in. I anyone is interested here are a couple of snaps from our trip, I’m sure you will agree Scotland has surpassed itself!
